N-E-W Healing Hive

About Us

N-E-W Healing Hive was founded in July of 2023 when two twin loss moms, Cindy and Kristina, felt called to start hosting monthly parental loss meet ups at a local coffee shop in the Fox Valley Wisconsin. One mom, Cindy, the founder, continued meetings and in May of 2024 partnered with another loss mom, Kait, to host a Bereaved Mother's Day Retreat for fellow loss moms.

Following the event Cindy and Jeremy started the process to officially make N-E-W Healing Hive an LLC nonprofit organization.

June of 2024 N-E-W Healing Hive officially became a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to provide an emotionally safe, judgement free environment, and resources for families surviving the loss of their child(ren).

We support local families within Northeast Wisconsin who have lost from conception to birth and up until the age of 18 years old.

Our primary mission is to serve parents who have lost child/ren 18 years and younger. However, we welcome any parent to reach out needing support. We never want a bereaved parent to feel alone in this journey.

Meet Our Board Members

President & Founder- Cindy Bottine

Cindy Bottine is the Founder and Board President of N-E-W Healing Hive. She is a Registered Nurse with over 11 years of experience, a military veteran, wife, mother, and woman of faith.

Following the loss of her daughter, Alayna Bottine, Cindy felt called to transform her grief into a source of hope, comfort, and healing for other families facing similar loss. Having endured multiple losses throughout her life including a best friend at 18 and a classmate in elementary school, Cindy recognized the deep need for support, understanding, and community for those navigating grief. Led by her faith, she created N-E-W Healing Hive as a safe and compassionate space where families could find comfort, connection, and hope amidst unimaginable sorrow.

Through both her professional background in healthcare and her lived experience as a bereaved mother, Cindy brings empathy, leadership, and vision to the organization. Her passion is rooted in ensuring that families feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Vice President- Jeremy Bottine

Sarah Menard: Secretary

Sarah is a loving mom to a 5-year-old daughter, an 8-month-old son, and two heavenly sons, Elijah and Theo. Through her own experiences with loss, Sarah brings compassion, understanding, and a heart for supporting other grieving families.

In her role as Secretary, Sarah provides meeting support, helps apply for community grants, and assist with key initiatives like Sprinkles of Joy Holiday Boxes and Alayna’s Legacy Bears—handcrafted, personalized bears that honor the memory of a precious child and offer comfort to families navigating grief.

We are so grateful for Sarah’s dedication and heart, and we are honored to have her serving families with us at N-E-W Healing Hive.

Brooke Hackel: Director of Giving & Growth

Brooke is a mom, therapist, creative, yogi, cat lover, and nap enthusiast. In November 2024, she gave birth to twin daughters, Charlotte and Sylvia, at just 25 weeks. Sylvia passed away nine days later, and in the year following this profound loss, Brooke has found healing and meaning through community and art.

New Healing Hive has been an important part of that journey, offering a way for Sylvia’s life to continue to be honored through connection, remembrance, and acts of kindness. This lived experience fuels Brooke’s passion for supporting other grieving families.

In her role as Director of Giving & Growth, Brooke leads fundraising efforts and supports families who wish to create their own fundraisers in honor of their child, with proceeds benefiting N-E-W Healing Hive and the families we serve.

We are honored to have Brooke’s heart, perspective, and leadership on our board.

Trinity Caskey: Director of Healing & Support Programs

Trinity is a stay-at-home mom and small business owner who brings creativity, compassion, and heart to her role.

In 2024, Trinity experienced the heartbreaking loss of three babies—Cree, Braylon, and Sutton. Through her own journey of grief, she has developed a deep understanding of the needs of families navigating the loss of a child.

In her role, Trinity helps create and support healing and community-based programs that honor children’s lives, foster meaningful connection, and provide comfort to grieving families. Her lived experience fuels her passion for ensuring families feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Trinity is honored to serve alongside the board at N-E-W Healing Hive and to help carry out the organization’s mission of compassion, remembrance, and hope.

Angie Lider: Director of Nourishment & Care

Angie works as a Case Manager in long-term care with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families of all ages and abilities. She specializes in Human Services and Grief Education, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Leadership from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, along with certificates in psychology and grief education. Throughout her career, Angie has been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate complex life challenges with compassion and care.

Angie joined the board of N-E-W Healing Hive after witnessing firsthand the profound impact of the loss of her daughter and the importance of comprehensive bereavement support on her own family following a personal loss of her daughter Abigale. In her professional capacity, she has developed grief support for families navigating loss, participated in multiple community grief support programs, and is a passionate advocate for people of all abilities.

In her role as Director of Nourishment & Care, Angie helps screen incoming funeral expense assistance requests, coordinates funeral home support, builds relationships with local hospice partners, and supports community outreach. She also coordinates the delivery of We Care for You Meals when families sign up to receive this support.

Outside of her board work, Angie enjoys hiking with her dog and actively volunteers at her church. Her dedication to the mission of N-E-W Healing Hive is deeply rooted in both her personal journey and professional expertise, and she is honored to serve families during their time of need.
